“I seriously doubt that. I’ve met crazy,” Jotaro furrows his eyebrows and visibly frowns at the thought. “What makes you say that? Did someone tell you that?”

The sight before Jotaro is a shocking one. This is a man he’s only heard and seen pictures of because he died nearly 100 years before Jotaro was even born. He figures this must be some sort of strange dream or effect of a Stand, but why? Why would it be so specific like this? It’s a mystery he has to get to the bottom of quickly if it’s the result of an enemy’s doing.
“So do you,” Jotaro says, eyeing the other with an air of caution. It could just be an odd coincidence, after all. Perhaps he shouldn’t be so presumptuous… “What’s your name?”

◎ = taking care of them while ill
Normally Jotaro is the type to work through a cold or fever or just about anything that might hinder him. He’s a busy man with no time to lose, after all, and there was still so much to be done. Investigating, researching… All things on his list of stressful priorities that he really couldn’t afford to take a break from.
He was forced to, however, since he’d nearly passed out while out and about the other day. Josuke was extremely concerned about his older nephew’s well-being, and as a result he was forced to rest while the other’s continued the search for Kira. He really, really didn’t like this, but he couldn’t quite bring himself to tell Nessa that, who Josuke had asked to look after him and make sure the older man didn’t attempt to over exert himself yet again.
If he were younger he could see himself being an ass about it, similar to how he would speak to his mother when she coddled him during his high school days. Now, however, he just accepted the gross medicine with only a gruff thanks as his way of showing gratitude. He was thankful for the concern, really, but he’d much rather be doing something useful with his time.

“You don’t have to do this, you know. I can take care of myself just fine. I’m feeling fine now, anyway. Tell Josuke thanks for his concern, too, but I don’t need it.”

“You should definitely consider it,” Jotaro mutters, eyeing the male seated before him. He doesn’t know much about him other than his lineage and apparent criminal record. By some twisted way of fate they’re related too, kind of, thanks to that madness Dio caused years prior.
“One is never too late to change how they are. Saying that sounds more like laziness and a lack of desire to change more than anything.”

☮ = waking them up after a nightmare
All the colors flying around are a blur as scenes that he’s never actually witnessed and could only imagine play through his mind. There’s lot’s of yelling, too, and pain. And suffering. He can’t actually feel anything since he’s asleep but he’s not aware of that and all he knows is the feelings he thinks are real (they’re very real and he dreams about this a lot).
The scene changes and he thinks the worst of it all is over but then instead of them (Avdol, Iggy, Kakyoin) it’s them. It’s his wife and his six year old daughter Jolyne. It’s two of the few people he loves most in the world (not including his grandparents and mother) and all he can do is shout in desperation and watch in horror as they’re taken from him by that yellow demon—that fucking monster—that took away so many he cared for already.
Suddenly this vision of horror is cut short by a familiar shout of his name as he’s shaken awake by none other than Joseph. He can’t hear what the old man is saying as his mind’s still bleary from sleep, but he can feel his heart beating fast and the thin layer of a cold sweat. He can already hardly remember the most vivid details but he knows it was horrible, knows it was something he must prevent from ever happening.
That’s why he’s here, after all. He’s away from home investigating potentially dangerous Stand Users to make sure no one that dangerous ever threatens his family again. He’ll be gone for a few months, but it’s to keep them safe. Anything to keep them safe…

“Ah… Don’t worry about it, jiji. It was just a bad dream. I’m sorry for waking you. Don’t worry about me. Go back to sleep.”

Jotaro’s never been one to keep up with someone talking so animatedly (the obvious exception being his mother, who’s the most cheerful person he’s ever known). It’s usually the product of something he doesn’t even want to listen to, so why bother? Still, he tunes in just to not come off as overly rude and blinks in surprise.
That’s definitely not English or Japanese.

“Er—what? I literally don’t understand a single word you’re saying,” he says, the rare shock and intrigue evident on his face. It definitely doesn’t sound like another Asian language. It sounds far too exotic and different than what he’s used to. “What language are you speaking?”

“I wouldn’t dream of it. A child, perhaps, but not a fool. You’ve proven yourself as otherwise,” Jotaro says, referencing not only the exquisitely decorated room but the worldly chair that Giorno sat in. The cold eyes of the few others in the room do little to change Jotaro’s demeanor. He understands, he supposes. It’s almost funny how this feels like it’s out of some sort of movie.
“You understand why I’m here, right? My friend Koichi let me know that you’re a Stand User. If the Speedwagon Foundation needs your assistance, would you help?”

“I’m a grown man that’s already been married and had a kid. I have a job that keeps me busy and enough friends. I don’t think there’s much left for me to dream about, Hayato,” Jotaro says. He doesn’t intend to sound annoyed or mean, He’s simply speaking his mind. There’s nothing Jotaro dreams about or longs for, at least, not as far as he’s aware. There are some things he desires, sure, but he wouldn’t call those dreams.
“Work is all I have sometimes. It keeps me comfortably busy.”

Ayurnamat - The philosophy that there is no point in worrying about events that cannot be changed.
“That’s in the past, you know. The two of you should get over your differences and stop being so immature,” Jotaro murmurs, voice low and calm yet still the slightest chastising. He doesn’t mean to offend Rohan in any way since the other man is an established adult, but he calls it like he sees it. This hatred between the younger man and his uncle is immature and a hindrance to their search for Kira.
After all, it’s so hard to try and accommodate both Rohan and Josuke’s schedules just to make sure neither of them run into each other while splitting up into investigation pairs. Jotaro thinks he could actually make use of both of them if they weren’t so difficult. He’s aware Josuke is a kid so his words might not get through to him, but Rohan? While the artist is still young there must be some common sense within him–why else would the man have such a successful manga? Surely he’s just being childish about this.
“You’re not the only person that my uncle beat up. His current best friend is among them, and he’s tried to hit me before. As for part of your house burning down… You can’t just accept a payment from the Speedwagon Foundation and let bygones be bygones? You shouldn’t worry over these past trifles that you can’t change, so you might as well be the bigger person.”
A pause, and Jotaro takes a sip of his coffee before continuing.
“Take that as a word of advice.”

Ultracrepidarian - Of one who speaks or offers opinions on matters beyond their knowledge.
“I don’t care if your mother said yes. This is something both of us have to agree on,” Jotaro repeats once again. He can already hear Jolyne’s tongue clicking on the other end of the line, thinking up a rebuttal but Jotaro won’t hear it. He’s the adult here, he knows what he’s talking about. No good could possibly come from Jolyne dating. He honestly had no idea what his ex-wife was even thinking saying yes in the first place. Jolyne was only 14, after all. Shouldn’t she be focusing on school or something?
He doesn’t really know what’s going through Jolyne’s mind (likely something about how Jotaro shouldn’t even have a say since he’s hardly there), but Jotaro knows he’s right about this. There are more important matters than messing around dating. He never dated in high school, so why should he allow Jolyne to do that? Such a thing could unintentionally harm her and he won’t stand for it.
“You’re only 14. Whatever feelings you have for this person are just hormonal. Get over it. You can do anything you’d like when you’re 18, but for now this is my word. Don’t ask me about it again because I won’t change my mind. Goodbye,” Jotaro says curtly, pressing the end call button and immediately placing the phone back down onto his desk.
“Yare yare…” Jotaro mutters, taking his hat off and placing it on his desk as well. He runs his fingers through his hair with a sigh, realizing that if anything that conversation will probably make Jolyne dislike him even more. She hasn’t said it to his face, but Valerie has passed on to him some of Jolyne’s complaints about him and his overwhelming absence from her life. Regardless, Jotaro is just doing what he believes is right in order to keep his daughter safe. He’s already lost so many loved ones but he really doesn’t want to lose his own daughter. If she hates him for it, so be it. He must keep her safe no matter what.
