“Evidence and couple of survivos who would rather keep a low profile …my kind of people~ “ she spoke with soft hum eyeing the tall man from head to toe. He was frightening figure, but fear itself or bribery were not always enough. “Come along darling, or you would rather stay in middle of street ? “ she asked with coy smirk leading their way to closest bar.
Jotaro merely offers a frown as his response. He’s not amused, and he really doesn’t see the purpose of why she can’t just take his money… Unless there’s something she doesn’t want him to figure out and that’s why she’s wasting his time and stalling. That’s what it seems like for now, but he’ll give it a shot and see what she has to say first. He’s already wasted enough time on this, so he might as well try to get something out of it.
Besides, this is starting to give him a headache. He could use a drink.
“What’s your name?” he asks, following behind her. Even if she doesn’t offer him any good clues Jotaro is positive that a bar in a city like this should have some shady characters willing to share information after a good punch or two.
“You could, but it does not mean I would necessarly speak, after all where is the thrill if we would get everything on silver plate ?” for a moment there was this smirk hanging upon her blood red lips. Wasnt he a clever one ! She did enjoy toying with stoic sort of people, watching them twitch in irritation.
“Awhh come now I am not that global love !” she said with small shrug of her shoulders. “You can go and ask more people around, question is just how much they know and if they are willing to speak. Its a wonder what fear does to a person “
“Fine. Whatever. I’ll give you a few minutes of my time, but if I find that you’ve wasted my time I’ll make sure you regret it,” Jotaro quips, the threat made without a bat of an eye or his expression faltering. He normally doesn’t pose such threats to regular citizens, but he’s begun to suspect that this is no ordinary woman.
“Is there a way I can ensure that you’ll tell me the truth? Or am I just supposed to trust your word?”
D: deceitful, defeating, delusional, demanding, denial, deranged, destructive, directed by externals, directionless, disagreeable, discourteous, dishonest, disorganized, disrespectful, dissatisfied, distant, does everything by the book, does what is convenient, doesn’t listen, doesn’t think things through, dogmatic, dominating, domineering, doubtful, dour, downer, draconian, drags people down, drama queen, drinker, drugs, dull, dysfunctional
With that, she grins at him, her delicate fingers of her right hand entangling with the ones on her left as they fold, index fingers pointing upwards as they come to tap at her lips in thought. Suddenly, it’s as if absolute genius hits her.
“ Alright, listen to this one - what do you call a mythical sea creature that makes witty jokes? ”
Since Jotaro also has nothing better to do at the moment, he decides he might as well humor her. He figures it couldn’t hurt to listen to a few lame jokes, anyway. Maybe after a few tries she’ll give up anyway. He gives her question a few seconds for thought as he tries to find an answer himself, but he’s turning up blanks.
“I don’t know. What do you call it?” he asks. He’s pretty sure this one won’t make him laugh, but he’ll give her a point for sea life humor.
The question made her fair cheeks to bit fluster at the thought while tugging on corner of her lips into faintest of smiles. Out of nowhere she bowed deep giving a nod to confirm her answer.
“Y-yes ! I uhm….I try to do so. Also sorry for not introducing earlier …Nessa Lumen, its a pleasure too meet one of Jouske’s relatives !”
“It’s nice to meet you as well, Nessa. I’m Jotaro Kujo,” Jotaro tips his hat a little in acknowledgement, offering up his own introduction. Honestly, he’s glad to see that his uncle is dating someone seemingly kind, especially recalling that the boy told him before he was a bit of a romantic. It must mean he really likes this girl, he thinks.
The man’s words cause Hayato to wince. They sound harsh, especially coming from an unfaltering, large man like Jotaro. Even so, he finds himself questioning those words.
“So you don’t work toward anything? You just work to keep yourself busy?” he asks for clarification. He doesn’t understand why adults feel the need to constantly work. It seems pointless if they simply just do it… What about his family? If there’s anything he knows, it’s that working men neglect their families. He was never really close to his father, but he knows work consumed a huge fraction of his time. So was the same true about Jotaro?
"You don’t even have dreams with your family?“
“I’m a marine biologist, and on top of that I work for the Speedwagon Foundation, but I wouldn’t consider what I do a dream of mine. I do it because I have to,” Jotaro admits. It’s nothing he doesn’t mind sharing with someone he hardly knows, and regardless, Hayato has more than proven himself given how he aided in handling all that Kira business.
However, as Hayato continues questioning him he presses into more personal territory. His family is something he rarely discusses with anyone other than Joseph and Josuke, and even then it’s something he tends to shy away from bringing up. As a result, Jotaro grunts and his features harden, casting the young boy a frown.
“Why are you asking me this? It’s none of your business.”
